Scientists marvel at long-awaited Webb photos

Washington | It could be an Alpine mountain range, set against an inky, star-strewn sky.
But these peaks, described as the “Cosmic Cliffs”, are around 65 trillion kilometres high and sit 7600 light years from Earth in the Carina Nebula, a mysterious star-forming region in the Milky Way.
