Menendez brothers could be freed for murders after Netflix expose
Los Angeles | Prosecutors will recommend Erik and Lyle Menendez be resentenced for the 1989 shotgun murders of their parents in the family’s Beverly Hills home, providing the brothers with a chance at freedom after 34 years behind bars.
The Menendez brothers, now 56 and 53, were convicted after the second of two highly publicised trials that captivated the US in the 1990s because of their wealth and privilege as the sons of a record company and entertainment industry executive.
