Actors announce historic strike in Hollywood shut down
Los Angeles | A historic double strike that will effectively shut down Hollywood was officially called and will begin on Friday (Saturday AEST), after a union representing nearly all TV and film actors failed to secure a new contract with major studios.
Actors will join film and television writers who have been on picket lines since May, deepening the disruption of scores of shows and movies, and leaving Hollywood studios with their first dual work stoppage in 63 years.
