Conroy urges US to relax ‘stubborn’ barriers to tech transfer

Washington| The US needed to relax barriers to military technology transfer to allow Australia to better prepare for conventional war, defence industry minister Pat Conroy was due to tell a high-powered American military procurement gathering in Washington today (AEDT).

Mr Conroy, who recently released an analysis showing 28 military projects were running a cumulative 97 years late and $6.5 billion over budget, will say that time is running out for Australia to sure up its defences, including submarine fleet.
