Surging antisemitism and anti-Israel sentiment in Australia have distressed leading Israelis, including former prime ministers Ehud Barak and Ehud Olmert, and there is concern that the change might be here to stay.

The prevailing view is that Australia’s attitude to Israel matters, both in perception internationally and in forums such as the United Nations, the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court.
