Washington | Donald Trump says a precarious ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas should be cancelled if Hamas fails to release the remaining hostages by Saturday – though he also said such a decision would be up to Israel.

Mr Trump was responding to Hamas saying it would delay the further release of hostages in the Gaza Strip after accusing Israel of violating the three-week ceasefire. The US president said that after the freeing of three visibly emaciated hostages last week it was time for Israel to demand the release of all hostages by noon on Saturday (9pm AEDT), or restart the war.
