London | Embattled British prime minister Rishi Sunak might yet weather one of his Conservative Party’s worst-ever election results this week, as MPs appeared to baulk at sparking yet another leadership spill so close to a general election.
Mr Sunak and his party were reeling at the weekend after vote counting revealed they had lost near-unprecedented swathes of council seats across the country at local and mayoral elections held last Thursday.
