London | Prime Minister Boris Johnson has vowed to rebuild Britain as a different country after the pandemic, promising a slew of potentially expensive measures while insisting the private sector would lead the country's reinvention.
Restoring Britain to its pre-pandemic state would be "not good enough", he said. The COVID-19 shock was a "trigger for acceleration of social and economic change" that meant "we humans won't content ourselves with a repair job".
