Stockholm | The NATO military alliance has pledged a fresh round of air defence systems to Ukraine and vowed to bolster its own weapons stockpiles and infrastructure defences, in a vigorous riposte to Russia’s missile blitz this week.
The fresh supply of Western weapons to Ukraine came as both Russia and NATO prepare to conduct routine nuclear deterrence exercises, despite the elevated tension over President Vladimir Putin’s veiled threats to deploy a nuclear weapon on the battlefield.
