Berlin | The German government has collapsed after Chancellor Olaf Scholz lost a confidence vote in parliament, deepening a crisis of leadership across Europe at a time of mounting economic and security challenges.
The war in Ukraine has escalated. US President-elect Donald Trump is set to take office, raising new questions over Europeans’ trade relations and military defence. And France’s government fell this month.
