Xi launches veiled attack on AUKUS in speech to ASEAN

Singapore | Chinese leader Xi Jinping has launched a veiled attack on the AUKUS nuclear-powered submarine alliance between Australia, the UK and the US, while insisting his country would not seek dominance over south-east Asia or bully its smaller neighbours.

Mr Xi made the remarks during a virtual conference with the members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, or ASEAN, held to mark the 30th anniversary of relations between China and the grouping.
