WHO warns China’s zero-COVID strategy not sustainable

London | China’s stringent zero-COVID strategy is “not sustainable” in the face of the highly contagious omicron variant, the head of the World Health Organisation has warned.
In a rare public criticism of an individual government’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said it was “very important” that China shift away from a zero tolerance approach.
