US seeks Australia’s help to check China at trade table

Sydney | The United States and Australia must work together to ensure China does not undermine trade and other bodies key to advancing economic prosperity in the Asia-Pacific region, a US official has warned.
The US is this year hosting APEC, the Asia Pacific Economic Co-operation grouping, as part of its wider economic and diplomatic strategy to push back on China’s burgeoning influence in the region.
