Tokyo | President Xi Jinping issued a defiant warning to the West against halting China’s rise on the global stage during a massive military parade on Wednesday alongside close international allies that included former Labor leader Daniel Andrews.
The former Victorian premier shook hands with the Chinese president on the red carpet in Beijing and took part in a “family photo” of leaders that included Russian President Vladimir Putin, who is wanted for alleged war crimes, and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
