Singapore | Jakarta | Indonesian President Joko Widodo has described AUKUS and the Quad as “partners, not competitors” to the Association of South-East Asian Nations (ASEAN), an apparent change of heart that will be welcomed in Canberra.
“We should view the Quad and AUKUS. as partners, and not competitors ... ASEAN’s aim is to make the region a stable and peaceful one,” the president said in an interview with the New Straits Times.
