Japan, US to seek Australia’s help in bolstering Indo-Pacific defence
Tokyo | Japan and the United States will discuss strengthening defence with Australia and other allies when Fumio Kishida meets Joe Biden in Washington next week amid growing concern about China’s territorial claims in the South China Sea.
The meeting between Australia’s two most important allies in the Indo-Pacific comes as Indonesia’s president-elect Prabowo Subianto met with Mr Kishida in Tokyo on Wednesday, as part of his first foreign trip since being elected leader in February.
