Japan’s economy is heavily reliant on its automakers who are expected to suffer a crippling blow from Donald Trump’s sweeping tariffs.

Tokyo | After being whacked with huge tariffs by a key ally, Japan finds itself paralysed and teetering on the edge.

Japan had been hoping for an exemption to Donald Trump’s sweeping tariffs on Thursday after being hit with a 25 per cent levy the week before on its huge automotive sector.
