Tokyo/Canberra | China has signalled it will not give up on its ambitions to implement a region-wide security deal in the Pacific Islands, as it released a watered-down version of its original plan in an attempt to get key islands on board.
China’s Foreign Ministry released a 15-point position paper on Monday night that removed its original proposal for joint police training and law-enforcement co-operation, but said it still wanted to work with island nations on cybersecurity and “non-traditional security threats”.
