China in high-stakes summit with Japan, South Korea
Seoul | China, Japan and South Korea will hold their first three-way summit since 2019 as Tokyo and Seoul have put pressure on Beijing by drawing closer to the US on matters ranging from security to semiconductor production.
Chinese Premier Li Qiang and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida arrived in the South Korean capital on Sunday to meet President Yoon Suk- yeol. Bilateral discussions and a dinner are planned for later in the day. The formal summit is set for Monday and will be followed by a session with business leaders.
