Amie FrydenbergLawyerSince October 7, 2023, and the terrorist attack by Hamas on innocent civilians in Israel, including the massacre, rape and kidnapping of women, children, and the elderly, there has been an unprecedented increase in antisemitism on home soil here in Australia. This started even before Israel’s military response in Gaza and has only escalated since then.
This has manifested in a variety of ways, including unlawful discrimination, racial vilification (or “hate speech”) and violence directed towards members of the Jewish community on our streets, in our educational institutions and in our workplaces.
