Marketplace apps should be exempt from gig economy laws: Mable
The boss of online carer platform Mable argues that horizontal marketplace apps should not be included in Labor’s workplace reforms to gig economy laws, arguing they are not in the same category as on-demand services like Uber.
Peter Scutt, executive director and co-founder of Mable, a marketplace that allows Australians in need of aged care or disability support to choose their own carers, objected to the broad definition of “employee-like” workers proposed by the government.
