Mark Bouris sets up Collins St rival to Melbourne’s men’s-only clubs

Businessman Mark Bouris has moved his new private members’ club to the “Paris end” of Melbourne’s Collins Street to directly poach members dissatisfied by the exclusion of women from The Australian, Athenaeum, Savage and Melbourne clubs.

The head of Club of United Business (CUB) Melbourne, Holly Wilson, who has a background in hospitality, said Melbourne’s “men’s-only” clubs would eventually wither by excluding women. Mr Bouris labels the clubs as “cosy, comfortable and elitist”.
