Corrupt lawyer in Plutus tax fraud ‘abused trust’
Prosecutors are pushing for more than 12 years’ prison for the corrupt lawyer involved in the $105 million Plutus tax fraud, arguing that his offending was worse than infamous Eddie Obeid lawyer Sevag Chalabian.
Former Clamenz Lawyers partner and accountant Dev Menon had his sentencing hearing on Thursday after a jury found him guilty in March of conspiring to defraud the Commonwealth and money laundering with conspirators Adam Cranston and Jay Onley.
