The pandemic era of inflated salary increases appears to be over as the economy slows and skills shortages ease.

Weeks after the Australian Bureau of Statistics revealed annual wages growth in the first three months of the year fell for the first quarter since December 2020, edging down from 4.2 per cent to 4.1 per cent, recruitment agency Hays has released data showing businesses have scaled back plans to boost workers’ pay.
