New research suggests the world of funds management is becoming less of a boys’ club, with female representation in the $4.3 trillion sector edging higher to nearly a third this year.

The most promising progress is at the analyst and senior analyst levels, but female representation at the portfolio manager level has gone backwards, Future IM/Pact, an industry initiative aimed at making investment teams more diverse, found.
