Warren Buffett's boardroom blueprint
The billionaire investor says too many independent directors are overpaid, overrated and not sufficiently invested in their company's fortunes.
James ThomsonColumnistWarren Buffett wants you to know that he really doesn’t hate board directors. "Almost all of the directors I have met over the years have been decent, likeable and intelligent," he wrote in his annual letter to Berkshire Hathaway shareholders in late February.
"They dressed well, made good neighbours and were fine citizens. I've enjoyed their company. Among the group are some men and women that I would not have met except for our mutual board service and who have become close friends."
