PwC boss Luke Sayers says inbred boards are struggling
PricewaterhouseCoopers chief executive Luke Sayers says the confidence of boards to govern with authority has been undermined by the rate of change, which has rendered much of their experience irrelevant.
The youngest chief executive in PwC's history at 42, Sayers said many boards are grappling with things that are fundamentally different to all of their life experiences. It is hobbling their confidence to invest for the long-term, to speak out on issues of national importance, and to fend off criticism.
