Kerr Neilson and Andrew Clifford are the former and current CEOs of Platinum Asset Management, which popularised global equities investing in Australia with a famously contrarian approach. These days the billionaire Neilson is an executive director and part of the investment team. Clifford has been running the business since 2018 and remains Platinum's chief investment officer. This is an edited transcript of their discussion with AFR BOSS magazine.

Andrew Clifford: I had worked at Bankers Trust as a summer intern, and I was in credit. But then I came back through the normal graduate interview process. That’s where I met Kerr, in that interview.
