Nearly half of the country’s top 300 companies have no women in roles regarded as pathways to becoming a chief executive – such as chief financial officer or head of operating divisions – suggesting men will dominate CEO offices for the foreseeable future.
Analysis by advocacy group Chief Executive Women found that 130 companies in the ASX300 have no women in so-called CEO pipeline roles on their executive leadership teams, while 173 companies have less than 25 per cent of their pipeline roles occupied by women.
