WFH may be adding to the school attendance crisis

The work from home revolution may be contributing to the crisis in school attendance, experts say, as children who see that their elders don’t have to report to work each day ask why they should have to go to class.

The rapid shift in workplace flexibility since the COVID-19 pandemic is adding to a complex confluence of factors that is making adolescents more likely to push back on going to school and less confident about their reading, numeracy and other skills once they get there, researchers say.
