Female medical researchers received $400 million less in government funding than their male counterparts and this could cost Australia its next health breakthrough.
That is the view of immunologist Dr Jessica Borger, who found the Australian government body responsible for doling out grants has handed them to male scientists at a disproportionate rate over three years.
