Private schools raise fees at three times rate of inflation

Soaring private school fees at up to three times the rate of inflation are not putting a dampener on demand, as principals lay the blame on rising staff costs and declining federal government funding.

A sample of private school fee increases for 2025 nationally reveals the majority of high-end schools have raised tuition by between 5 and 8 per cent, with increases as high as 9.8 per cent for a few institutions. That compares with the current rate of inflation that sits at 2.8 per cent.
