Nobel laureate Brian Schmidt to resign as boss of ANU

Brian Schmidt, the Nobel laureate who has been at the helm of Australian National University since 2016, will step down at the end of the year to return to his first two loves: teaching and astrophysics.

Professor Schmidt announced his decision on Thursday morning at the annual State of the University address to students and staff.
