Students from our region have never been strangers to headwinds. So to the families wondering whether to step back: don’t. Step up.

When I was 13, I decided I was going to Harvard. Not because I thought I deserved it, but because I could not stop thinking about what might be possible if I got in.

As a teenager in Auckland, I saw Harvard not just as a name but as a gateway to big ideas, and to the kinds of people and conversations that shape the world.
