There was a time when exchange traded funds were mainly utilised by young people seeking diversification, despite having limited sums to invest. Now, wealthy investors have also cottoned on to the benefits ETFs can offer.

According to the Australian Investor Study 2023, 55 per cent of high-value investors (the top 10 per cent by wealth and trading volume) hold ETFs, compared with 18 per cent of less wealthy investors.
