Investing in aged care not always easy
Despite the seductive demographics, the high level of changing regulation plus the reliance on government funding makes consistent profits challenging.

The key attractions for investing in aged care are the tailwinds provided by an ageing population. Hugh Dive, chief investment officer at Atlas Funds Management, says there are 4 million Australians aged 65-84. This is forecast by the Australian Bureau of Statistics to increase to 6 million by 2030. Dive adds, however, that he is not an investor in the sector.
