Kyle Sandilands likes to keep things simple. It’s why virtually all of the producers of his and Jackie “O” Henderson’s top-rating FM breakfast show in Sydney have short, snappy and almost certainly improper nicknames – like Peter (“Intern Pete”), Jaimee (“Mayo”), Kayla (“Non-binary Kayla”), Zane (“Thing”) and Natalie (“Croat Nat”).

It’s why he refers to federal Opposition Leader Peter Dutton as “Mr Potato Head”, and why his team asks every caller the same three questions: What’s your name and relationship status? What’s your favourite sex position? And what’s the most interesting life story you tell people at parties? Cameron, a chef, is in a five-year relationship, enjoys sex in the missionary position and was born with 12 toes. (Two were later cut off.) Amelia is in a three-year relationship and likes having sex in the park.
