Refugee-turned-businessman eyes mega prawn farm deal

Ho Chi Minh City | A refugee family which has built one of Asia’s most sophisticated aquaculture businesses in Vietnam using CSIRO technology is now turning its attention back home, with plans to turn Queensland sugar land into prawn farms.

The Viet-Uc Seafood Corporation is now one of the world’s largest breeders of the seedstock used by prawn farmers and supplies more than a quarter of the baby prawns used in Vietnam, one of the world’s largest prawn producers.
