The theme of 2024’s International Women’s Day is “inspiring inclusion”. Author Verna Myers once said: “Diversity is being invited to the party; inclusion is being asked to dance”.

These words remind us that representation is different from involvement. To me, inclusion also means feeling like I belong. I didn’t always belong through my 20-year journey in finance.
