The news this week that the Pinnacle Investment Management offshoot, Scarcity Partners, has turned a $30 million investment in Evidentia into more than $90 million within 12 months, begs the question as to what is driving the success of these funds management incubators.
It was certainly not preordained: financial markets history is littered with many examples of incubators that have failed spectacularly, especially those that were run by big institutions.
