Private capital eyes billions in social infrastructure projects
With $20 billion in projects waiting for private finance and super funds poised to help governments, investors are looking closely at social infrastructure.
Governments must co-ordinate the huge pipeline of social infrastructure commitments over the next decade to attract investment from superannuation funds and avoid fuelling inflation, experts warn.
The social infrastructure pipeline sits at a whopping $40 billion, encompassing 60 projects across hospitals, education, housing and justice, according to Infrastructure Partnerships Australia.
