IPO returns volatile but improvements in sight

New sharemarket listings returned almost double that of the broader market in 2016, but returns were lower than previous years, despite the volume of initial public offerings remaining steady, a Deloitte report has found.
IPO stocks have delivered returns of 12 per cent on a weighted average to the end of December 2016, outperforming the All Ordinaries index, which closed up 7 per cent for the year.
