Xero suffers symbolic shareholder strike against executive pay

Xero investors have delivered a rebuke to its board over the Silicon Valley-style salary of its chief executive Sukhinder Singh Cassidy, with almost half of the votes cast at its annual general meeting rejecting Xero’s remuneration report.

During the company’s AGM on Thursday morning, 48.74 per cent of the votes rejected Singh Cassidy’s $US15.2 million ($23.5 million) pay packet.
