Samsung plans different shape for AI phones

Samsung is working on mobile phones that have more sensors and bigger-yet-more-mobile screens to handle the demands of generative artificial intelligence, the head of its mobile phone business said.

The “lion’s share” of Samsung’s mobile phone research and development was now directed towards “AI phones”, which may turn out to be radically different from Samsung’s existing phones, said Roh Tae-moon (TM Roh), president of the Mobile Experience (MX) business at Samsung, which contains the company’s mobile phone, wearable, tablet and laptop businesses.
