After ferrying a passenger from the airport to the outskirts of Sydney, taxi driver Hamza Rasheed is more than happy to pick up an Uber passenger on his way back to the cab rank.

Anyone who has travelled in a taxi over the past 12 years will have heard how much cabbies hate the US tech giant, but since July an uneasy truce has broken out, with a trial for some regular taxis to pick up jobs through Uber’s app.
