Australia’s national science agency has named Doug Hilton, a leading cancer specialist biologist, to take over from its longest-ever CEO, Larry Marshall, with the new boss describing it as his dream job.
Professor Hilton will take up leadership of CSIRO (Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation) on September 29, leaving the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research (WEHI), where he has been the director for 14 years. He is also the head of the Department of Medical Biology at the University of Melbourne.
