NBN Co has renewed contracts worth up to $230 million over the next four years to connect new housing estates to the national broadband network, as Communications Minister Malcolm Turnbull considers whether to scale back the government-owned company’s involvement in the sector.
Under the renewals, ASX-listed construction company Service Stream received a $70 million, two-year contract to continue connecting new housing developments, or greenfields, in New South Wales, Western Australia, South Australia and the Northern Territory.
