Mercedes-Benz internally flagged $752m legal war chest, created hit list

Mercedes-Benz had internally flagged its Australian legal liabilities could reach as much as €500 million ($752.9 million) should it push on with its agency model rollout, with court documents showing it had compiled a hit-list of local dealerships it would ‘terminate’.

The decisions indicate the German car giant expected legal pushback despite insisting it would wait for dealership approval before switching business models.
