Meta chief Mark Zuckerberg has torn up the content moderation rules for Facebook, Instagram and Threads, which he says have resulted in too many posts being unfairly removed, labelled as false or restricted from being shared.
Over the past eight years, the social media giant has relied on third-party independent fact-checkers and its own artificial intelligence-powered filters to curtail false and misleading content from its sites.
