How chipmaker Nvidia struck AI gold
Huge demand for the US company’s H100 processors helped send its market value rocketing towards $US1 trillion.
London | San Francisco | Last year, US chipmaker Nvidia released the H100, one of the most powerful processors it had built – and one of its most expensive, costing about $US40,000 ($61,000) each. The launch seemed badly timed, just as businesses sought to cut spending amid rampant inflation.
Then in November, ChatGPT was launched.
